The Process
Preparation
Your vehicle will be detailed first. After the exterior wash and dry, your vehicle will be prepped to receive the Ceramic Coat after the 2-Step Paint Correction is complete.
Applying the Coat
Once the 2-Step Paint Correction is complete. The first coat is applied. After 15-20 mins, the second coat will be applied. The coat application process is now complete.
Curing
After the final coat is applied, the vehicle must cure for at least 24 hours. The vehicle cannot be driven, and must remain in an enclosed space away from outside dust and debris. If the vehicle does not cure for the specified time, the coat may not work as effectively.
FAQ'S
What are the benefits of a ceramic coat?
A Ceramic Coat will protect your vehicle's paint from oxidizing, prevents fading, protects against chemical stains from acidic contaminants such as bird droppings and bug splatter. Will greatly protect against hard water spots, and will immensley elevate your paint's glossy shine!
What does a ceramic coat not do?
A Ceramic Coat does NOT fully protect against water spots. It will help greatly in preventing them, but your vehicle is still susceptible to tough water spots.
Example: Your vehicle being left out next to a sprinkler majority of the year.
A Ceramic Coat does not prevent future scratches, swirling, and rock chips. If you take your coated vehicle through an automatic car wash, you wash away the coat entirely, while gaining excessive swirling and potential scratches.
A Ceramic Coat does not eliminate the need for regular washing. Your vehicle will still need to be washed, but with specially designed products to keep the coat intact.
What will ruin a ceramic coat?
The #1 Ceramic Coat eliminator is an automatic car wash. Once you take your vehicle through that the coat is gone entirely. If you or someone else washes your vehicle, you MUST either use the specially designed products for coated vehicles, or you must let the person who is washing your vehicle know that your vehicle is coated. Failure to use the ceramic coat specific products will result in the coat being slowly washed away.
How long does a ceramic coat last?
We provide 1, 3, 5, and 7 year coat lengths. We recommend that we do all future washes after the coating process, as we keep track and log every vehicle that we coat. We also provide a label that states when the coat was applied, how long the coat will last, and when the coat expires. We also provide aftercare information after your ceramic coat appointment.
But of course you may take your vehicle to whoever you'd like, or wash yourself, as long as you let the next person know the vehicle is coated and they are using ceramic care products.
We CAN tell if the coat has been washed off. If the coat has been washed off due to any of the reasons listed that will ruin the coat, the ceramic coat will have to be reapplied at regular price.
How long does the process take?
The process time depends on the size of the vehicle. Most vehicles will take only 24 hrs to complete and let cure. Larger vehicles such as trucks, or large SUV's can take up to 48-72 hrs to complete and let cure.
Do you charge a storage fee?
No storage fee! If you make an appointment to get a Ceramic Coat, we already know we will have to let the vehicle sit and cure. It wouldn't be fair to charge you for that!
What Ceramic Coat product brands do you use?
The product brand will vary based on the coat length you choose. We use brands such as P&S or Diamond PROTECH. All of our ceramic coats are applied by hand with an applicator. We do NOT use spray ceramic coatings.
Why do you not offer mobile for ceramic coat upkeep washes?
Ceramic coating and ceramic up keeping cannot be done outside in direct sunlight or in high temperature conditions. The sun and hot temps can stain or even potentially ruin your ceramic coat.
